Olde Towne Portsmouth, established in 1752, lies at the heart of the city’s historic district. Nestled along the banks of the Elizabeth River, this charming neighborhood offers much to explore—from self-guided walking tours of original period homes to a variety of museums and cultural landmarks. Make time to wander Olde Towne and discover its history.​​​

Lightship portsmouth Museum - 2 MIN WALK FROM CONFERENCE HOTEL

OPEN: Friday-Saturday, 10 AM-4 PM

Admission Fee: Free, suggested $3 donation

​

Built in 1915, The Lightship PORTSMOUTH is now a museum, but once was a mobile guide for mariners through the East Coast to help them enter the harbor safely at night. It is now permanently "anchored" along the waterfront right next to the Conference hotel. If you plan to arrive to the conference early, be sure to stop by the museum on Saturday to learn about this historic ship and spend a day-in-the-life of the 11 member crew from 1955.
