2017 Student Scholarships - Writing Application

*12 scholarships available as of June 21, 2017

We are very pleased to announce that our next APA Virginia annual conference will be held in Roanoke, July 16-19, 2017. As we look forward to engaging university students with our work, we are organizing a writing contest that addresses this year’s conference theme “Future Communities.”

As technological and societal shifts are impacting our communities and creating changes, planners are taking advantage of opportunities “the future” while mitigating the risks for a better health, safety, and welfare of the communities.

So how would you envision the resilient, innovative, and integrated communities of tomorrow? How do you picture “Future Communities” of the Commonwealth?

Submissions will be evaluated for the requested details and scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.  Scholarships cover the cost of a full conference registration.  Students traveling outside of a 45 mile radius will be provided with a sleeping room for the night of Monday, July 17, 2017 in Roanoke. All other incidentals such as travel and meals, outside of what is covered in the full conference registration, will be at cost to the individual.
