Conference Program Spotlight – 2017 Legislative Update; Ethics Case of the Year
April 11, 2017
The Annual Conference is a great opportunity to hear about what’s new and what’s changed in the Commonwealth in regards to planning and zoning policies; and to brush up on the ethical standards and practices for planners.
2017 Legislative Update
Join us Monday morning, July 17 for our Chapter’s Legislative and Policy Committee recap of the 2017 Virginia General Assemble Session. Hear from a panel of experts a recap Key Bills for Planners (a preliminary version available for review) and discussion of the legislation that will impact urban and regional planning in the Commonwealth. This lively session is always a great way to start the Annual Conference!
Join our Chapter’s Professional Development Officer (PDO) and representatives from the AICP Commission for a fun-filled refresher on the importance of the AICP Code of Ethics, with deeper consideration of potential ethical issues in planning. Learn how to negotiate challenging ethical and moral dilemmas we sometimes face as planners. Navigating the murky waters of “right vs. wrong” gets easier with experience and regular discussion with your planning peers. The ethics plenary will be held on Wednesday Morning, July 19.
*This session may fulfill Ethics CM requirements.
